Abchurch has secured the Corporate PR and Social Media remit for Wellesley, the UK’s first peer-to-peer lending platform (“P2P”) to use its own money to part fund every loan. Wellesley joins Abchurch’s extensive financial services client base in particular speciality finance.
Wellesley is the UK’s first P2P lending company that lends its own capital in every loan made available on its platform. The Company has been operating as a property development finance company since mid 2013 and has processed over £200 million of loan applications made by borrowers since its inception. To date it has made £6.5 million worth of loans through its P2P platform. Wellesley is regarded as one of the major P2P lenders and is a member of the Peer to Peer Finance Association (“P2PFA”).
Julian Bosdet, Senior Partner of Abchurch, commented on the appointment: “The Abchurch team is delighted to be working with Wellesley to raise the profile of the Company following its recent launch and to communicate its story and unique offering to savers and to property developers. Abchurch is pleased to be working in the rapidly growing peer-to-peer lending industry in a crucial stage of its development as it becomes regulated by the FCA in April.”
