Abchurch to promote disruptive medical technology
Abchurch Communications has won the corporate pr and financial pr brief to provide Medgenics, Inc. (“Medgenics” or the “Company”), developer of a novel technology for the sustained production and delivery of therapeutic proteins in patients using their own tissue, to raise its profile within the life science, healthcare and financial press. Medgenics is dual listed on the AIM market in London and the NYSE AMEX market in New York.
Medgenics is developing a technology called Biopump. This is made from a sliver of patient skin tissue which is then engineered to produce a specific therapeutic protein and re-attached to the patient. The Biobump is currently in development to produce different proteins that treat patients suffering from three chronic diseases: anaemia (erythropoietin), hepatitis C (interferon-alpha), and haemophilia (Factor XIII).
Adam Michael, Director and Head of Life Sciences at Abchurch, commented: “The Abchurch Team is delighted that Medgenics made this appointment. Biopump is an ingenious technology that offers patients with chronic disease an alternative to frequent injections. As such, it is catching significant attention from both developmental partners and the investor community. We are all looking forward to working with Andy Pearlman, CEO, and his team in representing the Company.”
Leading the Abchurch account is Adam Michael, Director, Life Sciences, supported by Joanne Shears, Director, and Jamie Hooper, Account Executive.
