Pacific Bio-Holdings, a coconut biodiesel developer initially supplying the Japanese market from plantations in the Philippines, has appointed Abchurch Communications to provide international corporate and cleantech PR advice. Leading the account at Abchurch will be Justin Heath, Director, who heads up Abchurch’s Environmental PR practice. Joining Justin will be Monique Tsang, Account Manager, whose long term experience in green PR will be key for the successful running of the account.
As part of a project, sponsored by two Philippines authorities and funded by a Japanese bank, Pacific Bio-Holdings has identified vast areas of unused public lands in the Philippines to plant coconuts for the production of biodiesel. The company will also utilise other components from the coconut to generate by-products suitable for agriculture, wastewater treatment and other environmental re-use.
Commenting on the appointment, Justin Heath said: “Abchurch is delighted to be working with Pacific Bio-Holdings and to be helping them address the growing demand for secure and sustainable fuel sources that meet increasingly stringent environmental regulations. Abchurch was particularly pleased to have been the company’s only shortlisted PR agency; recognition of our leading position in the Environmental PR field.
