ZeroWaste cleans up with Abchurch

ZeroWaste

23 February 2010

ZeroWaste Plc, a company with a proven, cost-effective process to convert municipal solid waste into renewable fuel, has appointed Abchurch Communications to provide ongoing financial and corporate communications advice.

Abchurch Communications, one of the UK’s leading financial, corporate and investor communications consultancies with extensive expertise in advising clean technology companies, has taken on a remit to build up the profile and understanding of ZeroWaste within the media and investment communities.

ZeroWaste uses a sorting, drying, and volume reduction process to convert municipal solid waste (“MSW”) into an energy-rich refuse derived fuel in minutes (many competing technologies take hours or days). The process provides a decentralised, local solution to the problem of waste management.  It provides local authorities and commercial waste processors with a cost-effective way to reduce the volume of waste going to landfill and, thereby, avoid increasingly punitive fines for exceeding their landfill quotas. The fuel output can help governments fill the widening energy gap and comply with their renewable energy obligations.  ZeroWaste has exclusive rights for its core technology within the UK and Ireland and has already started operations at its first site in Bridgend, South Wales.  With around 70 million tonnes of MSW generated in the UK every year, the market opportunity is huge.

Leading the Abchurch account is Justin Heath, Managing Director.
